Thinking about buying a home? BWTT® Home Stretch is a free, two-part homebuyer education series that helps you prepare for homeownership and qualify for down payment assistance and mortgage programs. Presented by the Chicago City Treasurer’s Office and The Resurrection Project.

• Part 2: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

What You’ll Gain

• HUD-certified homebuyer education. Each session is a 3-hour course led by The Resurrection Project’s HUD-certified team. Attend both to complete the full 6-hour education requirement, or finish at a later date.
• Down payment assistance guidance. Learn about down payment assistance programs and other grants and resources that can make homeownership more affordable.
• A resource fair. Connect with lenders, housing professionals, and community organizations who can help you move forward on your path to homeownership.

Good to Know Before You Go

• Check-in: Arrive early — you must be checked in and in your seat by 9:00 AM to receive credit for the day.
• Parking: Ample parking is available on campus in the parking lot or garage. Campus security and posted signage will direct you to the event space.
• Can’t make Part 1? Sign up for Part 2 and attend Part 1 at a later date.
• Guests: Each certificate attendee may bring up to one guest. Seats are limited and prioritized for certificate attendees.

Earning Your Certificate

Your certificate requires:

1. 6 hours of HUD-certified homebuyer education (Parts 1 and 2 each count for 3 hours)
2. A consultation with a HUD-certified counselor

You’re welcome to attend one session or both. If you attend only one, you’ll learn at the event how to complete your remaining hours. You can also sign up for your counselor consultation on-site with The Resurrection Project, who will schedule it for a later date.

Once earned, your certificate is valid for one year and can be used when working with financial institutions on down payment assistance and mortgage readiness.
