You’re invited to the Money Matters Institute In The Community at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Center.
Join us for a practical, hands-on Tax Basics workshop led by Ladder Up, along with budgeting strategies presented by Chase. This session is designed to help you file with confidence, understand what you owe, and build a plan so tax season doesn’t throw you off track.
Whether you’re a W-2 employee, gig worker, freelancer, or part of a low- to moderate-income household, this workshop will break down what you need to know in clear, straightforward terms.
At this workshop, you’ll learn:
- What documents you need to file (W-2s, 1099s, and more)
• How to claim key credits and deductions to maximize your refund
• Important tax deadlines and how to avoid penalties
• The difference between employees and independent contractors
• How to budget for taxes and manage what you owe
